I just got my jdm itr installed, and did a compression test. I got 185-190 accross all of them. I expected it to be also higher, can anyone tell me if this is what I should have expected, with those engines in the 11:1 comp area

seems pretty low. i hae a 94 jdm gsr motor and my compression on all four cylinders are 230. my cars uses about 1 1/2 quarts between 3000 mile oil changes but still rips!

 

Um its a JDM ITR...And it has a read valve cover......

Do you really think the guy that had that motor in his ITR in Japan drove the car normal...I dont think so....Im sure that guy beat the **** out of it..Because it has a red valve cover...And its an ITR motor....

So for now just drive the car until you can afford to rebuild it...being that low isnt that bad....

Did you do the test when the motor was hot or warm and wide open throttle????If not try that....
