Default JDM engines????

This kid was telling me to get a TypeR tranny for my B18C1 from japan because (i dont know if this is true) once the engines get to 40K that it has to be changed. seems like a dumb rule to me, what do you think or know about this???

from what understand the older a car gets the more expensive the registration gets causing cars to get junked. I don't think theres any mileage law. I could be wrong

i had also heard that coz of their smog laws. thats why most of the jdm motors have less than 40,000when shipped to us

im really not sure about that...
my MR2 went through the "Shaken" this year.
it has... i dont remember exactly but 60,000km+ and its a 1990MR2 SW20

The older the car gets, you have to go through the "Shaken" more. Like my car, i have to go get it checked again in 2 years, which is gonna cost me another oh, about 100,000 yen, which is about 800 bucks. I personally think the reason why the engines are low milage, is because there are bunch of people that crash these cars at low milages.

oh well, dunno.

A type R tranny would be an improvment
but it dosn't have to be changed. What he told
you is wrong.
