Just ordered a JDM b20 from Go Motors ($450! Not bad!) for my 89 Prelude beater, but couldn't get exact specs to compare it to the USDM version. He said he THOUGHT they were identical, but I was just wondering.
The only thing I find odd about your question is that I have never seen a JDM engine that uses the 5th digit on it's stamp. I.E. B20A5. I used to work at as an engine importer, to. Sorry I can't be of more help.
It's hard to say without seeing. Found that out when we ordered our first group of engines. You would have no idea how many damn B18A's there are. SOHC, DOHC, carbed, fuel injected, for Accords, for Preludes....all B18A. Same with the B20A. I've seen them in SOHC, DOHC, carbed and fuel injected...

It's a JDM DOHC FI b20a, and that's really all I know.
It's not all that important, until it needs work. I just want to make sure the parts are interchangeable between it and a USDM Prelude b20a5.

Actually the JDM 3G Accord B20 was a DOHC model.
The SOHC engines of that car are the A series engines: A20, and A18.
North American 3G accords only came with the carb and EFI A20.
