JDM B18C Speed Limiter???
I have a friend that has a hybrid 94 Honda Civic EX with a "JDM" B18C (whether it is or is not JDM is yet to be seen). His speed limiter is set at 118mph and the person who put the motor in is saying that it is because of the JDM ECU. Now, I have heard that JDM ECU's don't have speed limiters, is this true? If the JDM ECU's don't have speed limiters, then what kind of computer could be in his car then? Also, the car's secondaries aren't kicking in and the guy who put it in said that they are at wide open all the time for some reason, won't that cause the car not to run? Thanks for your time!!!
all jdm ecus are limited around 120~
the secondaries i dunno. i dont know alot about the b18c intake manifold so i couldnt tell you but my guess is check the sensor if you can take the manifold off and phyciscally open and close the secondaries.

if the secondaries are open all of the time the car will run fine it just wont have as much low end torque. It is controlled by vacum lines so check that all of them are connected.
actually all JDM ECU have a speed limiter which is set at 180km/h or about 112mph (stock tach is usually off about 3-8mph wrong, due to production error and usually wheel/tire match)
I have my secondaries wide open all the time and I don't like it. I just simply pulled off the vaccuum line on the actuator (I think that's what it's called) on the right of the intake manifold and I plan to put it back on. So yea, my point is just check all thevaccuum lines as stated in the post above and once you get the secondaries to do their job you should feel a difference. HTH.

The reason i know this is i done it with stock cluster and JDM EK4 cluster.
And another thing Tach's do not tell MPH that would be the speedometer. Tach tell RPM's.
