JDM B16A, broken sensor, what is it??

I have an 88-91 JDM B16A with a broken sensor and not sure what it is or what i should buy.
On the back of the block, just beneath what I think is the oil pressure sensor is another sensor...anyone know? Knock sensor maybe? I need to be sure and order one...should i get one for a 90 integra like most other parts?
The picture was taken with the camera next to the front driver side strut tower pointing toward the back of the block

.is that a water temp sensor? would it throw a code if i left it? the temp gauge does currently work fine.

My guess is it is the "Engine Coolant Temperature Switch", [probably what fasterthanueg means] and it will have to be replaces, it controls the rad fan. 94
