Jacking aid
Jacking the rear of my '91 EF hatch has always been a problem. The 3 1/2 ton floor jack I have is a bit large for the EF. Getting is positioned under the cross member is always difficult - getting it under the crossover muffler. Since installation of a 2 1/2" catback system with larger crossover resonator makes it even worse.
So I made a pair of ramps out of a 10' piece of treated 2x6 lumber. Put stops at the back of them as pictured. Used them today for the first time and they work great. Position them against the rear tires and back the car up onto them. Front tires are blocked front and rear of course. Jack slides under the resonator with no problems now. When setting car down, I put the ramps under the rear tires and set it down on them, pull the front blocks, then just drive it off.
