Best Brand Automotive Fluids
I'm looking for the best brand automotive fluids, this includes engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, etc. I'd like to stick with one brand that makes all, also attainable from a local auto parts store. Throw me some brands.
For Honda Civic, Integra, Accord, Preludes, etc. Generally, how many pints, quarts, or gallons of each fluid would I need to flush and get all levels perfect? So far i have 4 quarts of motor oil, 2 quarts of transmission fluid, 2 gallons of coolant, 1 pint clutch brake fluid, 2 pints brake fluid, 2 pints of power steering fluid.

Just one tip, though--make sure you use Honda power steering fluid. It's different than others...my pump started to leak at the seals after I used the usual type. I'm not sure if that's what caused it, but I always like to play it safe.
What car are you refilling all of the fluids on?
I'm a mechanic and I do alot of work on friends Hondas from my high school. Whenever someone buy a used Honda I usually encourage them to replace every oil and fluid for preventive maintenance, also because we dont know the age of it. I mostly work on Hondas and I want to be able to give them a set price or be able to tell them exactly how much of each they need to buy. I hate coming short needing to go get some more fluid or over where I have to return oil and fluids at the store. I want to be known for quality work, putting quality oil and fluids.

Well, always better to have too many fluids than too few. Generally, when I purchase fluids, I purchase an extra container, be it a quart of oil or whatnot. This ensures that not only will I have the right amount, but in the event of an emergency I have extra fluid on hand. I oftentimes like to keep a few containers in the trunk, especially coolant or water (just make sure your coolant bottle is sealed, woops!) Keep in mind, though, that hydraulic fluid for the brakes and clutch will absorb moisture over time, so it's not good to keep them on the shelf with the seal broken, probably for more than a couple weeks. That's on the safe side, I really don't know anything specific about that.
If you are recommending others, you can't go wrong with the OEM stuff. Go to the Honda dealership. They may have the nickname "stealership," but I find that their prices on fluids are very reasonable. Last time I picked something up at my local dealership it was MTF, which was actually cheaper than some I found online. The OEM stuff is going to do the job, unless one of your buddies is tracking his car, putting really high demands on some of the systems. In this case, he probably won't be asking what fluids to use.
For oil, I prefer Amsoil, a fully synthetic oil. It is really personal preference, and I'm not snobby about it because there's a lot of good oils out there, but the oil has never given me problems and I've seen good results. If you know a thing or two about oil, you can probably tell what's good and what's not. I work in a grocery store and I see people buying non-SAE approved 30 and 40 weight oils to put in their cars because they're low on a few quarts or something. In terms of stuff like this, make sure you tell people not to put bad stuff in their car; it really doesn't matter which name brand oil you use (Amsoil, Mobil, Castrol, Valvoline, etc).
All in all, for most Honda owners I would typically encounter, I would recommend the OEM stuff. There's very little room for error there, and it's not going to break the bank. Plus, never hurts to be friends with your local parts department
. I hope that helped man.

HG for everything, except transmission fluid. I really hate their new blend of MTF. I will be switching to something else soon. I'm not even sure if Honda does sell brake fluid but if they do I just use whatever just because I am going to change it so often.
Alright, looks like original genuine brand fluids will be the best, it was my first choice ever since, I just wanted an alternative and a single brand, I'm looking very closely at Valvoline, and for the brakes, clutch, and coolant, Prestone. Is that a good idea?
I use:
Honda MTF-II
Honda Power steering fluid
Honda type 2 coolant
Honda pro dot 4 brake fluid for the hydro clutch system
Valvoline synpower or motul for the brake fluid
Shell rotella synthetic motor oil
