Default ITR+LS RODS

i read some where that itr pistons wont fit onto ls rods, the part rod that goes in th piston is to wide and needs to be milled 1mm in each side to fit, i was wondering is this true or false, i relly need to know becasue i got usdm ITR pistons for my ls and im using ls rods.
