Default ITR Intake manifold install:: need help!!

alright guys, i've been all over the web trying to figure this out and no dice. first off, im installing this on a 92 gsr ( b17a..oh yea ) ...basically a heavier b16a so it's supposed to bolt right up ( and it did. ) My problem is that when i start the car it will rev to 3 grand, then come back down, then up , then down and just keep repeating itself. Yes, installed new IM and TB gaskets and cleaned the old surfaces and got all the gasket crap off for a tight seal. Im using a b18a TB, cuz someone said my b17a wouldn't. im running a 94 fuel rail so my fpr would fit. here are how i have the hoses going so far (the 92 gsr only has one purge cylinder and this is a USDM type r mani, not jdm........no big difference though )

-Map sensor running to small nipple on TB
-Side and Bottom of purge running to big back nipple ( left )
-Big brake booster cable ( or whatever it is ) running to big back nipple ( right )
-FPR running to small nipple on front on IM

that's how i have everything hooked up so far and so far i guess thats correct. I just replaced all the vacuum lines and eveyrthing is tight and no 'kinks'. It's getting frustrating b/c i cant even figure out whats wrong with it, let alone it not running. oh yes, i also have the pcv valve on or whatever.. the weirdest part is im not getting a Check Engine Light, so i guess im not throwing any codes. could this be my fuel, vaccuum leaks or what? im really confused and desperately need all you guru's help! thanks so much.

clean ur idle air control valve on the back of the intake manifold.
two 14mm nuts hold it on and two coolant hoses and one harnees plug.

spray it down with carb cleaner and let sit for 1/2 hr then blow it out and reinstall.

i just did it to mine and it worked great!

Which throttle body gasket are your using? You should be using the ls gasket and not the itr. ALso try spraying carb cleaner around the intake manifold and throttle body gaskets to see if you have a vacuum leak.

Man..thats BS...you can reuse your B17A TB - no problem!

You have one or a combination of these problems since you don't have an engine checklight being thrown - according to your idle surge problem:

- IACV is dirty and needs cleaning (did you use your B17's IACV on the ITR IM or did you get another one? ).
- Your TB gasket is installed wrong and its performing some kind of vacuum leak - recheck it.
- You have a vacuum leak somewhere on your intake manifold connections.

Also, did you ever happen to stumble upon my ITR manifold install page?

katman--yes i stumbled on that site a couple times,

i am reusing my iacv from my b17a, and i cleaned it througly with carb cleaner and put a light coat of oil on the o-ring beforei reinstalled it as well... do you suggest i go get another TB gasket and re-use my b17a TB? im pretty sure i re-tightened all the bolts on the actual manifold, but i wont be a happy camper if that's the case. thanks for yer help..seeya

also:: if this makes a difference, i would unplug the electrical connector on the iacv ( on the back of the manifold ) and it would idle almost normally at around 1200-1500....i know that's high, but at least it was a somewhat normal idle instead of constant revvving to 3k. also if i stepped on the gas it would be normal and rise then fall, as opposed to before it would rise then pick up with the idle so if i stepped on it as it was coming down it would come down and stick at certain rpms if the electrical connector was plugged in. BUT without it plugged in i got a CEL...but at least it runs...what should i do. what exactly does that IACV do? also im getting a slight whistle from my throttle body which i wasn't getting before, i think i adjusted my idle screw too much, just back it off? because it wasn't there before i touched teh screw. thanks.

reuse the b17a intake manifold gasket. The reason your car idels like that is the fast idel valve. Now that you dont have one when you first turn on your car it will idel pretty high then eventually die down.

3000 rpms is a little high......also it's not an 'idle' it will float up, then float down...i lett my car sit like that and it just stays that way. any other suggestions? this si getting really tedious. i almost about to take out hte entire thing and do it all over again. thanks.
