Default Itr/gsr head components

Hello once again...well the search for info has finally started on putting my soon to be itr cams in my engine(b18c1)...and I just wanted to clear my senses with those that have current knowledge of this procedure and not I heard this mumbo jumbo.

I am going to replace the valve seals(why not) and I am going to get the set of valve springs from an itr and switch the double set of the gsr over and put the new itr ones in(I forget which ones though(exhaust/intake-that is in my hardrive though). My engine has 237,000km and I was wondering if my gsr valve springs will still be up to spec or should I just go out and buy the full set of itr springs or am I just wasting my money doing this. Also I am pretty sure that the itr/ls/gsr valve spring retainers are all the same...is there any real benefit of titanium retainers other that taking a chunk of my paycheck-I don't think that these are really needed(they don't use them in itr's). Just want to hear some feedback on this...Also, I am going to take the head off to do this and I was wondering if it is really worth taking the head to get it port and polished from a reputable place(in TO) or am I once again looking at minimal gains(what kind of cash flow am I looking at for this job). And should I repace my pistons with itr ones(pretty cheap!) to raise the compression-is this of benefit in my b18c...My goal is not to have a race car but to have an everyday driver that has some good kick to it...I am going with itr products because they are tried and tested and still very good on gas and emissions. That was a mouthful.
Looking for feedback before I make any rash decisions-still lots of homework to do!
