JDM final drive = $500
ITR 2nd and 3rd = $150

Im thinking of doing the ITR second and third, and leaving the FD alone. I'll save $350, have good acceleration, and get good gas mileage (and go faster). My question is, do the gears just pop right in my tranny? I just buy the two gears and thats it? No other parts are REQUIRED ?? I realize I might as well do syncros cuz those are cheap and I got 80k miles on my car.

BTW, the tranny is being taken out anyway for some LSD.

Any comments about this mod?

 

what final drive is the ITR? 4.40 or 4.785? cuz if it's a 4.40 you don't need it....
the GSR tranny already has the 4.40 fd.

If you want to use an ITR's 2nd & 3rd gears, you need to get the main and counter gears for both 2nd & 3rd.... they will replace your GSR's 2+3rd no problem.

try to get the ITR's LSD if you can as well since you'll have everything apart.

What do the counter gears and gears go for from the dealer. I was also thinking of getting the itr/b16 2nd and 3rd gears, and a jdm final drive. Anyone know what the parts would cost and intallation for the 2 gears and whatever else is needed and a fd install? Thanks

 

I called when i first posted this about a month ago. second gear with counter gear was like $180 i wanna say. Second cost more than third i remember. I thought you only needed the one gear (cuz i really dont know how the tranny works) and really only got prices for just the gear.
