Default internals for my b18c1

i have recently purchaced a 99 si with a 97 b18c1 converted to obd1 the motor has alot of modifications as far as fuel is concerned and basic bolt ons, i was wonder what the best pistons and camshafts were for my motor? if type r or aftermarket internals is the way to go? anyones opinion would be appreicated

I suggest you set some goals and do some research. It's true that some companies offer higher quality products than others, but the only way you're going to really find out is through research. Also note that while one product may be good for one type of engine build, it may suck for another. We set goals for this reason and draw everything out to prevent buying unnecessary parts. I suggest you do the same.

i have done research and i do belive posting and reading on honda-tech is a form of research itself. i have my goals. I am curious to see if anyone really likes or really dislikes any of the camshafts and pistons they have tried. thanks

i am also interested for my b18c1. so far for pistons im thinking between OEM JDM type-R (11.3:1) or JDM b16(11.6:1) or IB spec wiseco(11.8:1). for rods, IB rods seem promising along with good price. currently for cams, im running skunk2 stage 1's and i really have no comment until there tuned. good luck

Type-R cams are a good 'starter' cam for people who are new to doing honda B-series engine upgrades. You can't go wrong with any type-R engine parts for your engine if you plan to stay naturally aspirated. Either JDM or US ITR pistons are a good choice too, to use with your GSR engine; your compression will be in the high 11's, which is fine with pump gas (91+ octane suggested).
