Default Internal Combustion Engines

Anyone taking any internal combustion engine classes?

Or what book to you recommend me picking up.

I saw one " Internal Combustion Engine Fundamentals" by John Haywood or something.

I want to take the class my college offers but I would need to take physics classes and like 4 math classes just to get into it. I don't have the time to take those and do my aviation major.

Thanks

How stuff works doesn't go in the depth that I want.

I've got Obert's book cause that was the text when I took the course. Its just kind of out-dated by now. If you can't take the course, you can still buy the book that they use... But without the math & physics, you may not understand all of it.

How in depth do you want it? As far as i've learned is like head shape design and flow factor combustion chamber and lil things like that by reading. stockel engines or something with stockel (the writer i think) has excelleant descriptions and pictures.

Good Luck

hey all. i am a junior mech e at YSU and they dont offer any cool classes like that. I am really intrested in stuff like this. Any suggestions on books i could look for??? I already have Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, awesome book. But i want the more physical/mathematical derivations of everything.
oh and for my Fluids Lab, my group and I are turbocharging a 2.2l cavilier motor. All junk yard stuff cause we only have a small budget. But i am designing and building the air-to-water intercooler we might use benzene because of its greater coefficent of heat transfer than water pretty cool huh
