Default intermittant cel code 9

I was throwing only two codes 3 and 22 after I swapped my itr from my wrecked civic into a new chassis. I found a short in the 5v ref wire for the map and stupid me had the input and output backwards for the vtec pressure.
got that straight and in runs fine except vtec wont kick in..
after about 20 minutes of driving the CEL came back on.. it was now code 9.
no 1 postion sensor.. turned car off went out to eat came back checked wires reset ecu and check light was gone. ran it for a while and then again in about 15 minutes cel code 9.. I know the distributor is fine and the wires are fine.

anything else that could cause this????

Okay, so I reset the ecu and drove it around. I kept the rpm's under 4000..
the check engine light came on about 20 minutes after driving.. cel 9.

I noticed the distributor housing was hot. more than it should be..

I am now thinking I might have a bad bearing in the dizzy.

is the bearing a replaceable part or does the whole dizzy need replacement?
would the bad bearing friction heat be enough to cause a bad sensor code??

not a replacable part and not sure if the heat from it would throw a code.
