Integra starting issues help
Hi guys
I need help with diagnosing a starting problem with my car.
It's a 96 integra
Basically my car don't start at times.
When I turn the key to start the car won't crank. All I hear is what sounds to be fuel pump. But it makes that humming sound when I turn the key to start. Not the fuel pump prime sound.
I bought a brand new starter a month ago and problem went away and now it's starting to come back.
I have to turn the key hard for it to start and sometimes I have to turn the key back and forth few times before it starts. I thought it might be ignition switch but car stays on once it starts.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Integra starting issues help
When the vehicle does not start, use a multimeter and test for battery voltage at the starter S terminal while cranking. (This is the small clip wire that attaches to the starter solenoid.) If you have battery voltage at the point and the car still does not start, you have a battery cable/ground problem, and if those check out, your starter is defective.
If you probe that wire while cranking and there is 0V, or less than battery voltage, you are most likely dropping power in the ignition switch. Replace the switch.
