please help. I was driving my 1995 gsr up the highway for an hour in the rain. parked it for 2 hours, and when I got back in, it was skipping a little. It gradually got worse until it lost all power. It barely idles now. starts and runs though. i dont believe anything got wet. Heres what Ive tried:
New plug wires
plugs look clean and dry, 2 week old plugs
2 week old fuel filter.
put in dry gas in case of water in gas
fueled up 4 days ago, halfway through tank, probably not bad gas

any ideas on what it could be?? Im stumped.

It runs, but doesnt have enough powwer to move. no CEL's, VAFC reads fine. anyone run into this before?

 

I am worried just because you mentioed you were driving in the rain. If you have a compresion tester I would check the vitals right away to ensure there was no hydro lock.

If that all checks out ok check your TPS sensor. Will it rev smoothly or does it spit and bumble?

 

it spits and bumbles. I found an odd sensor, but cant find where it goes. I have the book, but no luck. it has one scre point, t vaccum lines, a broken part, and a sensor plug. im gonna go check the book more. thanks, ill check the tps.

 

it sounds like you are talking about the MAP sensor.

 

MAP sensor seems to read okay on my VAFC, and it doesnt change when I unplug it

Things ive checked:

-MAP sensor
-TPS sensor
-timing
-compression
-bad gas/water in gas
-spark plugs
-plug wires
-fuel filter
-vaccum lines

?? any other advicE?

it idles now, but just has not enough power to move. NO CELS. wtf.
