Default Intake Manifold Leak!!

Ok, I just finished my head swap(mini-me) And I have a nasty leak across the top of my intake manifold where it meets the head. The bolts were torqued correctly in proper order, but the whole top is leaking air. Could it of been because I have no bracket under it?maybe it torqued while sagging a bit? I havn't worked with sohc motors too much, and found in the search some related problems, but not identical. I did use a new oem gasket and cleaned both surfaces. Can you mill/resurface an IM? should I? Any help would be appreciated.

Its probably just not lined up right. If you torqued it down without that bracket, this is definatly possible.

Take it off and do it again.

i've had three different IMs on my car w/o the bracket. Never ever had a /coolant vacuum leak.
