which intake manifold?
Trying to decide to stick with my d16z6 intake mani or get a d16y8 one. I want a mid-range powerband. I'm pretty sure that the runners are the same length and diameter. Only the plenums are different in size, the y8 is about 1/3 bigger than the z6. Here are the peak torque #'s:
Z6 106 @ 5200 RPM
Y8 107 @ 5500 RPM
Going by this alone can I assume that the z6 is more mid-range? I know that you only want a bigger plenum if you are F/I usually. Thanks

there are alot of other factors that make up the peak torque #, like the cam that is used and the fuel and igntion maps in the ecu, but to a milidly modded car, a y8 will do you nothing but good.

I will be highly modified. high compression and aftermarket cam. are any of you familiar with intake manifold formulas? there is a great article on team-integra.com: http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=466
anything other than opinions? I guess I am looking for more info on why the y8 would be better. the y8 has a different combustion chamber design, slightly higher compression, and a larger IM than the z6 but its only worth 2 hp more than the z6.
