Instrument Panel Lights
Ok. Here's the problem. I have a 91 civic LX. My instrument panel lights, the climate control lights, and my back-up lights don't work. I know that they're all on the same fuse, along with my taillights. My taillights DO work, as well as my turn signal, hazards, cruise control, check engine, etc. I just can't see how fast I'm going, what my rpms are, engine temp, and fuel at night. I've checked EVERY fuse in the fuse box both under the hood and steering wheel. I've checked every bulb on the cluster and my backup lights as well. All are good. When I got the car, I noticed that there was a 25 amp fuse for these items where a 10 amp fuse should have been, so I'm lead to believe that there may be a short or something somewhere. My question is simple, how do I get the illumination back on? Are there any other fuses to check? Please help!!!!!!!!!
Ok. I checked a bulb with the parking lights on, and there was about 12 volts per wire. Next, I checked to see if power was coming from and to the dimmer, and there is power there as well. It even fluctuates as I dim-brighten the illumination. Just for the hell of it, I went and bought a brand-new dimmer and installled it with no luck. Could it be that there is 1 bad bulb (it must look like it's good, because I checked them all) or even a bad socket that would cause all of them to not function? Is it possible that because my back-up lights aren't working that it may open the circuit that has something to do with the illumination? I'm at a total loss here.
