Installing O2 sensor - will this work?
I have a European motor with no O2 sensor which I'm planning on fitting a Zdyne to (OBD0 car). I know I will have a little wiring for it, but my question relates to fitting the sensor itself.
Once I get the sensor, do you reckon it would be ok for me to drill & tap the exhaust & screw the sensor directly into the exhaust? Then drive down to the local garage to get it properly fitted (boss/nut welded to the exhaust for the sensor to sit in)? I'd drive it my way for about all of 10 miles.
It's just that, without the O2 sensor it'll run like *** & with a supercharger fitted I really don't want that.
Thanks
Alex

sounds alright, just use some duct tape to keep it on there!
and go easy on it so stuff doesn't get too hot.
now that I think about it, duct tape might melt on there....maybe wrap it w/ something?

Thanks for the reply, yeah I'm thinking about something to hold it there. My local garage reckon there isn't enough thickness in the material of the exhaust to get a decent thread on to.
So, I was thinking just drill a hole for the end of the sensor, drill a hole just a little smaller than the threads of the sensor in a wide jubilee clip & just screw the sensor through the jubilee, and tighten the jub. round the exhuast!
I reckon something along these lines will work - it's only to last 10 miles after all!
Thanks!
