Default installing mechanical oil pressure gauge

just got an oil pressure gauge, and I am alittle confused on some of the installs. This is all for a B18B engine.

Basicly, with it I got the gauge, a clear hose, a 4-5ft steel braded line, a hoarseshoe shaped mounting bracket, and some fittings and gromments.

On the steel braided line, it came with a brass adapter.. and from what I read by searching, is that its not a good thing. I should instead use steel version? Anyone know where I may obtain one?

I have a diagram showing how the supplied fittings and grommets are supposed to be installed, but then it shows a "nylon tubing" instead of the line I got. My guess it that steel line I got goes in place of this, but I want to be sure. Does anyone know if 4-5 feet of line is long enough to go from the A-piller, down behind the dash, through the firewall to the pressure port? It seams alittle short.

Finally, where is the pressure port on the engine where it plugs in? This is my biggest question. I looked in my manuals, and while they had installation/removal instructions they didn't describe nor show where it is located. (oil pressure sender is what I am looking to use isn't it?)

thanks much in advance for any help or recomendation.

the 'idiot light' (low oil pressure sensor, it only turns on when there is NO pressure) is to the left of the oil filter. I would highly recommend getting an electrical oil pressure gauge, because with a mechanical that line will be running hot oil INSIDE your car. Should that line happen to break, for whatever reason, you got very hot oil in your car....could be a potential disaster. Now, there are also kits that make it so the mechanical gauge is measuring the pressure with water (ie it transfers the pressure from an oil line to a water line at the firewall so no hot oil runs inside the car).

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunetly I already have the mechanical gauge, so either I sell it (probably for a loss) or install this one . Where might I find one of those water kits? I would rather not run hot oil into my car :D

Don't use a mechanical gauge.
Buy an electrical one.

Unless you have the correct fittings, DO NOT use the ones that came with your gauge. Search the archives in Tech, or integra, or Forced induction for "BSPT" or "NPT". This should bring up some posts where I have already expolained this whole process.

Basicly your Block uses BSPT threads, and the adapters (i am assuming here) that you have are NPT. They are not compatible and you will run the risk of a bad seal/cross threading your block or fittings.

Good Day.
