You could probably take the stock airbox off in your sleep. Now the resonator is a bit more work. It's a piece of cake install though. One thing about the AEM that is annoying to no end. They put the crankcase breather nub right in the middle of the tube...NOT at the inside of a bend...or even slash cut. I modified mine.

Whats wrong with having the breather nub in the middle of the tube? I didn't think it mattered...

There is a really long winded post at Endyn about this. If you like I could locate it for you. I questioned the design the first time I saw it. If you look at your stock tubing it has the nub at the inside of a bend. I'm certain this is no accident. This effects air pressures through the breather. The optimal setup would use a slash cut nub that is set inside the tubing at the inside of a curve. I modified my AEM for just this setup.

It's placed on the inside of a bend in stock form because that is where the air will be traveling at the highest velocity at any given time, so location does matter. This helps to prevent oil from being sucked into the intake. If you remove the tube that runs from the intake to the valve cover while the car is idling, you'll notice that the tube coming off of the valve cover is blowing air out, and the tube extended from the intake is sucking air in. This equates to oil getting into the intake, TB & IM. If you use a slash-cut extension protruding into the intake stream, or even better, a 90° elbow, facing the oncoming airflow, it helps to force air INTO the valve cover instead of allowing it to blow out.

Thanx bro. I don't think I explained that well.

Man now size matters AND location matters...the pressure! Agghhhh....!!!

it's pretty simple.

your stock airbox resonator is kinda of a bitch to get off, this is why i die-grinded mine off and just kicked at it.

as for the top intake piece, it's simple. just remove all of the plastics by the tire and around the intake area, and as for the AEM CAI install, you stick the tube into the intake hole on the chassis, put a huge hoseclamp on the TB with the rubber connector between the intake and the TB, tighten and then pur your air filter on inside the wheel well area.

done.
