Default Input shaft question

I previously asked a question not too long ago about if a GSR gearset would go into a 90-91 Integra cable tranny. It was answered as yes...totally possible...HOWEVER I have a new question:

I don't know too much about transmissions, but would my input shaft size, still be the same as a 90-91 integra, or does the gearset include the input shaft...thus increasing it to 92+ spec ? I need to know this ASAP because Im about to buy a clutch. Im trying to get everything together before the next auto-x.

The input shaft for 90-91 B18 is 31/32" and the 94+ B18 is 1 1/32". They are both 24 tooth though and will look identical unless you measure them. You would need to order the clutch disc for whichever input shaft your using.

Ok..thanks for that info, so will swapping gearset out for a GSR change the input shaft size?

bump for answer...

Let me reiterate here:

I have a '91 Integra, and as you know, the input shaft is smaller than the newer transmissions.

I have a GSR gearset, brand new, with Gear Speed carbon coated synchros at my dissposal, and it will be going into a cable case.

Would I have to buy a clutch for the bigger input shaft? or is the input shaft not something that is swapped over when you change gearsets?

if you have a hydro or cable gsr gearset assembled with both shafts, you need the 92-93 cable case. you can use 92-up ls diff w/ a hydro b16 ring gear or gsr diff and final assuming you use the right bearings and shims. you will need the forks, select mechanism, reverse idler, etc...all the stuff for the insides of the casing. if you have any more ?'s just ask or pm me.

*you can't use a 90-91 input shaft with those gears.
