Default Input bearing spun

I have a tranny that i took apart.

When i took it apart alot of metal shavening came out and piece of bearing droped out. I look at the inout bearing and it spun in it (seat?).

is it possible to fix the seat like press a new on in and out??
Is this tranny garbage now? Would the gear still be good to make an hybrid tranny?

I can't really tell from the picture how badly the case is damaged, but as long as you can still get a nice, square and tight interference fit with a new bearing I don't see why you couldn't fix it.

It's hard to tell, but it looks like the outer race of the bearing may still be in the case. If it is, you can just pull the remains out and see what is left. I would be surprised if the outer part of the bearing did spin since is is a ball bearing not a plain bearing. Can you set the camera on macro and put it inside the case for a better closeup shot?

The seat looks fine but behind it looks rough its all chewed up.

Would the tranny be fine if the bear explodes? Where can i look for wear.

If you can't get a proper fit with a new bearing, I think you will have to replace the case half.
