Default Injectors ticking?

Is it possible for injectors to develop a ticking sound? I adjusted my valves today because they were way out of spec. from the swap and most of the noise around the valvecover is gone but it's pretty loud around the injector/fuel rail area. Is it possibly the injectors and if so is there a cure other than getting new ones?

there supposed to tick if im not mistaken
the pin inside moves forward and backwards to let fuel be forced into the cylinder.

Ticking is normal, try checking the resistance if you think it is excessive.

can i just say this:

teh ticking should NOT be loud. you should not be able to hear it unless you are really close or use a stethoscope (or long screwdriver!)

have you noticed any performance issues?

I can hear it if I'm just standing next to the car. Haven't noticed anything perfomance wise, but I'm still breaking in the engine so I haven't really layed into it yet.

hmmm, i would then suggest it is not your injectors. but you valves!

maybe re-check the clearances on hte intake side?

t..

also: if injectors need a resistor box hte reading should be 2-4 ohms, without resistor box 10-12ohms...

Not gonna say my adjustment was perfect, but I guess I should mention the injectors have 140,000 miles on them and the engine has about 120 miles.

i am going to say that if you think you can hear your injectors clicking when you are standing next to your car,

well, id be surprised that the car would still be running...

my bet is your intake valve lash setttings - these are a bitch to do and would cause hte noise you are describing...

no performance problems? it is unlikely your injectors...

hth,

actually, to stop me losing sleep,

go and listen to the injectors individually with a stethoscope or long pointy thing,

and see if the loud clicking you hear corresponds to the clicks you hear from the injectors...

if they do - it is your injectors. if not - it's your valves.

That's plan B.

Hey, i have the same problem and i had a buddy of mine look at it and he said for sure that it was the valves. i adjusted them but being that was my first time ever doing so by myself, i probably messed up. and my ticking noise was LOUD! you could hear it when next to the car and inside the car. better double check your valves, it only takes a few min. to do so.
