ingalls camber kit install question
hi guys.
this is for the experts who have done many installs of the ingalls camber correction kit.
the front kit for the integra requires you to remove the upper pivot mounts from the upper control arm. both the stock mounts are held together by one long metal piece that pretty much holds the two together.
in the ingalls installation instructions it does not say to reuse them or not but i have a funny feeling that they should be reused. that piece of metal will spread out the stress and strain on the shock towers. and not place all the stress onto the holes where the stud protrudes through the shock tower. i noticed as i was tightening the bolts down the shock tower metal isn't exactly the thickest or strongest. you can actually see it bend and flex. i think i should put those metal brackets onto the adjustable camber kits for safety reasons.
what do you guys think? am i right or wrong?
any professional experience with this type of thing?
p.s. the front camber kit i got was the ingalls 35710 (rubber bushings) Adjustment Range -3/4° to 1°

i did an install on the skunk2 kit so its a bit different, but i kno wat part u are talkin about. I'm not sure that thing flat peice is able to be removed from the 2 pivot joints, if you can and they fit on the ingalls peices, then by all means go ahead and do so... i do not see any adverse affects of this peice being on ur new ingalls parts so long as they do not interfere with the adjustment portion, which i am not too familiar with the ingalls. hth.

how are you supposed to get that piece off? I just installed ingalls kit yesterday(1st time- not pro) I was going to try to put that back on there but could not see how it could be detached
You are right. I have always reused those "metal bridges". You can remove them by turning the assemblies upside down and holding them while a friend takes a flathead screwdriver and a hammer to knock them off. Tap at all 4 corners and they eventually come loose. Hope this helps.
