Here is the car: 91 Si HB w/ B16a(I,H,E & fields vtec cont). Recently I have been having a extremely strange problem. When travelling over several bumps the car will lose power and not accelerate. When I go over these bumps the car acts as if it is fuel starved(the a/f gauge is in the red(lean). I floor the accelerator pedal and the car completely bogs down and wont even pick up speed. I can hear the intake trying to suck in air but the car wont accelerate. Then after a few minutes of letting the car settle down I fire it up and the car is fine, runs great. No check engine codes either. Here are the things I have done to try to remedy this: GSR fuel pump upgrade, new fuel filter, RC eng. balanced injectors, FPR tested and checked ok, installed newer main relay, inspected fuel tank for dirt/corrosion, new pcv valve, and a I installed a newer map sensor(less miles than the stock one). Anyone else have any ideas as to what this could be? This has stumped me. Thanks
Well it seems as if the vibrations from the bumps are causing something to come loose. As to what I am not sure. Maybe a ground, maybe a wire for the fuel pump. Just my 2 cents
it seems like a connection for sure.
how long after you stop does it start up again?
it must be a bitch to work this out cause it ONLY happens when you hit big bumps!?!
that would suck!
sorry i cant help much

In regards to the fuel pump being the prob it happened before I replaced the old pump with the gsr one. The car never really dies after I have hit the bumps, it just slows down because I cant accelerate. It will slow down till I stop then after I stop I try to crank the car and it will crank but not start. Then after a few mins it fires right up and runs great. I know its screwed up. I need to find a bumpy road so I can start checking more stuff. Any other ideas?
Do you still have the cat convertor in? I had the exact same problem with my old CRX. Does it start bogging only after heated, or has it ever happened while the car is cold/semi-cold? The problem I had was that the cat was clogged and when it got heated the stuff inside would move around and stop the exhaust from leaving. Letting it cool down and settle inside the cat was what I did, and it worked. If you still have the cat in, bust it out or get a new one. If the cat's already out, then I just wasted a lot of time typing this
