ok so i hit a pot hole the other day, it cracked my front rim really bad and bent my rear rim(both drivers side) well after i changed the tires i noticed a rattling noise coming from the transmission. i had my friend who works at a tranny shop (only works on domestic trannys) check it out and he said my dif is rattling but could not say for sure if it could have possibly been caused by the impact of the pot hole, i had a few other opinions say that yes the force and vibration could have done any number of things to the tranny. well here is my dilemma i need to get an estimate for the insurance company and need opinions on whether or not this could have indeed caused the problem, i never heard the rattling before i hit the pot hole and am conviced that the impact caused the problem... any opinions are very appreciated..

well cmon bro if it wasnt doing it before and right after that it does it then it was just that!..cmon the impact was obviously hard since you cracked the wheels!

 

yeah i can 100% say that there was no noise before the impact but it just bothers me that all the car guys i talk to say that it could definately have been caused by the impact but the guy that works on trannys is the one that says he isnt sure....
