Ignition Timing Question
After Swapping TIming belt off a 97 GSR, I reset the timing back to 0* on the crank and lined up the cam gears. Now with a timing gun I got the timing on with the red mark (which is located a few inches down from the 0* TDC mark).
Now is the red mark representing BTDC??
With a timing gun it has a **** to adjust the degrees of advanced timing. Do you use 0* or the degree that your car runs on stock??
Also, when adjusting your cam timing you need to reset the ignition timing, how would I do that with the timing gun? If I advance the timing 1* on the cam, do I add 1* advance on the timing gun ****???
Thanks

the red mark represents 14 degress advance. the white line on the top all by itself represents 0.
if you have a timing gun with a ****, adjust to whatever advance you like (ie 14) and use the first white line (0 degree mark) to check your timing (should be lined up with the timing cover)
as far as doing oyur ign timing over after you cams, its just the same process as above.
