ignition switch problem?
Hey, I have a 99 civic. There was a recall on my year honda, but my civic did not fall in that recall category. the recall was for a problem with the ignition switch, it would cause the car to stall while driving. high currents flowing thur contacts and degrade contacts on the switch.
Well my car, it has stalled out twice within the last 1.5 months while driving w/o warning. it would just die. I was puttin on my door panels on the other night, so I had to keep puttin the window up and down. I was turning my key back and fourth(off to the second position). Once when I had turned it to the second position, the clustered lights flickered and I saw a lil smoke come out the steeering column. but besides the stalling problem, It usually runs great and does not have problems.
Does this sounds like there is wrong with the ignition switch?
