idling big non vtec cams
one of the major problems with big non vtec cams is that due to the large overlap at idle you need to dump tons of fuel into the engine to idle it
ok just out of curiosity does a vacuum canister help that at all like this one?

will this help reduce the extra fuel at idle at all? i dont really care about vacuum for the brakes im more concerned about streetability

yeha on a couple customers car with huge duration LS cams, I used two extra canister and it helped idle at around 950-1000 rpm ... I got the canisters from Jegs the first time, but 2nd time I used a couple of GSR secondary runner canisters.

It`s not necessary. I run the biggest stage Crower cam possible on the street(along with countless other high performance mods) and I have never had a bad idle due to lack of vacuum. So what good is it going to do for me? Nada.
There are plenty of functional thing on the market that are simply worthless...I believe this to be one of them. Just my opinon

maybe you missed the NON in the title of this post. you dont need a vacuum can to idle vtec cams. im talking about a non vtec cam that has the same duration all the time as the lobe of the vtec profile on the cam you are running
i think it has to do with compression. the higher the compression the better the car will idle. IMO, this helps the engine power through the lopeyness. I had a 11:1 cr ls that I had crower stg 3 (.427" and.420" i think) and it idled good. The guy i sold them to put them in a stock motor w/ just the head done and it idled like sheet. my other buddy's ls idled bad with the stock compression and got noticeably better when he rebuilt the bottom end w/ itr pistons.
