Idle Surge + Odd TPS Readings?

Idle Surge + Odd TPS Readings?
On my 40 minute drive home today, the car started acting up. Whenever I'd let off the gas completely, the VAFC showed that the TPS was reading 7% open. There was a noticeable idle surge at stoplights which I presumed was a result of the throttle position being askew.
At the next couple lights with the throttle "closed", the TPS read 8% and then at yet another one it went up to 9% ~ same deal when disengaging the throttle while driving. Still has the same idle surge.
As I was nearing home and would let off the gas, I noticed the "closed" TPS reading gradually dropped each time until when I was in my driveway it read 0.00% with the throttle fully disengaged. However, the idle surge remains. It's too dark to check vacuum lines and such tonight, but any ideas as to what could cause these two symptoms and what I should look for tomorrow?
