Idle Problem...HELP!
Alright, I just tried to register with this site and I guess I'd registered a LONG **** TIME AGO...I don't remember doing that, but whatever. Hopefully this isn't a nOOb post, but if it is, hi. lol
Anyways, I've got a 97 Sol with a 94 B18B Swap with GSR Tranny. Did the swap almost exactly one year ago and it's been great up until two months ago. Gradually the idle had started to fluxuate more and more while warming up when the car is stopped. It doesn't do it once warm. It doesn't do it while driving. It only does it while warming up and while stopped. The idle will go from 1200-1500 rpm, up and down, up and down, etc. The check engine light comes on once it's warm and the rpm's drop to 750-800.
Now, I've been told it's the Fast Idle Thermal Valve (FITV). I've been told to take it off and tighten the white screw down. I took mine off and the white screw was tight. I finally just bought a BRAND NEW FITV and put it on. It's worse now. Everything is tight.
I had the code checked that it's kickin and it's a code 43, which is fuel supply system. I've been told 9 times out of 10 it's an O2 sensor going bad. I've ordered one and am waiting on it to come in. However, I wanted to know before I keep buying things if I'm on the right track here. Thanks for you help.
Oh, by the way, here's my ride:

iac motor maybe. fuel supply i would check to make sure your getting the right fuel pressur first. might just have a clog somewhere in your fuel line
Yeah, tried the IACV. Took it off and cleaned it until it looks new. Made no difference at all when I put it back on. I ruled out the IACV though cause that is only operational when the engine is warmed up. The engine runs flawlessly when it's warmed up...
My crx is doing the same thing but it does not stop suging even when warm, my teacher said that the Fast Idle Control Valve was not creating vacume how did you get yours off mine has a clip but cant seem to get the clip off, and i had searched and done all procedures for surging idle. nice ride btw
It will be different on yours of course (unless you have a 94 JDM B18B in which case it will be exactly the same) but it's fairly easy. Mine is located under the throttle body, so I had to disconnect the throttle cable (nuts are 12mm, don't stretch the cable or your idle will REALLY be messed up) , remove the throttle body (four 14mm bolts, probably need a deep socket or socket extentions) and then take off the two coolant hoses and the 3 10mm bolts to remove it from the car. Very simple. If you want to tighten down the white screw inside you'll also need a 8mm wrench/socket to get the end bolts off to get to it. They have phillips heads on them but I don't recommend tring to get them off that way (I tried and it just rounded the heads out, to tight for screwdriver and bolts too old). Here are some of the pics I had:

Hey just to let you all know, the new O2 sensor fixed the problem. Thanks.
