ok, i've got a friend with a 92 VX HB with a 1st gen JDM B16 swap. he has been having a really bad idle problem lately and it won't idle below 2k rpm. we've adjusted the idle screw and it doesn't change. today i took off the IAC and cleaned it too, still no change. the only thigng strange is the fact that his check engine light keeps coming on, but it rarely has the same code twice in a row.

I have reset the computer a couple times and the light will go away, but there is still no change in the idle. the one thing that seems apparent to me is that their is no EVAP purge control solenoid.

OK guys, I am really stumped at this one, so help me out PLEASE!!!

 

This may not have to do with your problem, or maybe it does. You said he put a first generation B16 motor in it? Maybe that's why he's getting CELs, just a guess.

 

yeah, it's a 1st gen B16, but i don't know anything about the swap b/c it was in the car when he bought it...

 

just curious, what color are the injector plugs??
