Default idle issues

For a couple of days now when my car is at idle, it will idle at about 500 rpms and it will be popping out of the exhaust a little and when i get on it the car seems like it has lost power. I thought it was my field vtec controller so I pulled that and the car was still doing it after i pulled it out and rewired it pack to stock. I also reset my ecu no dice. Its just wierd. What do you guys think it could be?
