Default Idle gets higher as loads are turned on

What's up H-T,
Recently rebuilt the cylinder head on my JDM ITR engine, cleaned anything and everything and after getting the car running did a final idle adjustment, set the ignition timing, and calibrated my TPS (not exactly in that order).

Anyway, I did the idle adjustment based on the IACV being unplugged and set the idle at 650 RPM as per Honda service manual recommendations. After plugging it in, it idles at 850 RPM fully warm with all loads off steadily and without flaw. However, if say I turn on my blower motor and defroster, or my headlights on with my wipers, or all 4 etc. the idle will rise to around 1050-1100 RPM. Just wanted to know if this was normal, because my other car I could literally have everything on and it'll idle around 800 RPM all day long, it is however a 20 year newer car lol.

I don't remember if my Integra did this before I stopped driving it over a year ago but I just wanted to know what other people experience with their 90s Hondas (primarily Integras with VTEC engines) with loads being turned on vs. idle speed.

Thanks guys!

Bump! Anyone have any ideas as to why my idle creeps higher when loads are added?

Its normal for the ecu to bump up the idle as loads are applied but it appears your base idle is too high.

You need to set your base idle to 550 with the iacv unplugged. Keep in mind the 1st big white line after 0 is 500 not 200 and you want your base idle around 500 -550.

It will be like the car is about to die but thats what you want.
