i have a friend with a 97 prelude whose been having problems with her car and was wondering if anyone could make an assumption of what could be wrong?
this is what she said:

"my lude recently got the transmission rebuilt. (automatic) but prior to this and again afterwards, when the car is started up in the mornings, or after sitting for a long period of time, when i brake at a stopsign it'll start shaking (the whole car) as i gradually slow down. the rpms will then drop to below 1000 and if i continue to hold the brake down, the engine will turn off, but the car will remain on."

those were her exact words but this is what i get from it:
when her car sits idle, the rpm drops and the motor dies if she puts on the brakes...she just got her trans rebuilt so it shouldnt be anything with that...i was thinking maybe the throttle body but she seems to be getting air if her car stays running as long as she doesnt put on the brakes...i just dont understand how the brakes could affect anything????
