Default IAC/throttle body problems

the car starts and will shut off if gas is not applied.... the ecu is reading the number 14 code...i tried 3 different IAC's and still showed the same code but all the iac's were used and not to sure if they worked or not. Also the guy i got the car off of ported the throttle body himself... is that a problem?

Has the car run properly since he did his DIY Throttle Body porting job?

It could be the throttle body if he didn't get a properly sized butterfly for the porting that he did. Or if it is out of round it will let too much air passed the throttle plate/butterfly.

Do you know if he actually ported the throttle body to make it larger at the butterfly or did he just make the taper into the butterfly wider and keep the same size throttle opening?

Did you reset the ECU each time you replaced the IAC valve for testing?

recheck your plugs maybe, make sure your TPS and Map ones are mixed around. It won't throw a code if they are mixed up. Check the butterfly plate fitment. Clean spray inside of IACV, it may be sticking? Check fuel pressure, may have a bad FPR? Does is sound like it's not running on all four cylinders? Check firing order/timing. I don't just throwing ideas out there.

ok i reset the ecu.. still reads code 14... i double checked all plugs and plug wires. its running on all four and its getting fuel. if i keep my foot on the gas it runs like a dream but as soon as i let off it shuts off... so i will switch the two plugs and see if that helps any.
