i really need help please!
ok i just replaced my clutch a week ago and since then i have put about 30 miles on the car, and it still seems to slip once in a gear after about 20 mins of driving it. what can be the cause? how do u know if ur clutch master cylinder is goin bad? or ur clutch slave? or is it i need a new clutch again? i just bought a brand new clutch kit and its bad already? well i'd appreciate as much help as i can get please! thanks H-Ters
I need some additional info from you. Did you replace or reface the flywheel? By clutch kit, do you mean new disc and pressure plate? Have you followed the break-in instructions that came with the new clutch?
Assuming an new or refaced flywheel, the new clutch has to be broken in with some care or it will get glazed just like brakes can. They generally have to be driven fairly easily for a few hundred miles to wear in the surfaces to each other. If you've leaned on it hard enough already to get it slipping, it may be glazed.
If you used an old flywheel and did not re-surface it, the disc does not have any good surface to grip and you will be re-doing the job.
Oh yeah, is it a cable or hydraulic clutch? It may need adjusting.
