I Need Some Help
Ok, well I have sort of an unusual problem that I have never encountered. A few months back I got a conplete 88 D16a6 motor from a friend who did a b16 swap. The D16a6 had no internal work whatsoever. The about a month ago, I picked up another 88 D16a6 motor from someone else. All it was missing wascrank pulley and throttle body. This motor as far as I know has never been modified internally. So tonight I took the crank pulley off of the first D16a6 motor and went to put it on the second D16a6 motor and it would not fit. The inside of the crank pulley was too big and even with the key in place, the crank pulley would just spin on the crank. So, something doesn't add up. Either the crank is different or the pulley is different. I don't understand it considering both motors are stock and from the same year. I am wondering if people ever change cranks on these motors? Maybe a ZC or a D15? I don't see why they would, but who knows.
Thanks for the info. Do you mean that some engines within the same make had different crank snouts (like an 88 d16a6 may have a different snout than a 91 d16a6?) Or do you mean say a d16a1 has a different snout than say a d15?
