i have this stupid question about Intercoolers...
i was just curious, if i decided to go all-motor... could i use a FMIC, and it work the same? and just like.. run a pipe from the input end, and stick a filter on it? i know its a really really really really really stupid question im sure, but i was just curious cuz i didn't have any luck searching on it... and i have never seen a pic ...so i was just curious.. u can flame all u want i know i deserve it...
the reason for an intercooler on a turbocharged car is because when you compress air, it heats up. the intercooler cools off the compressed air from the turbo back to near-ambient levels before it enters the engine.
Because an intercooler uses the outside air as the source of cooling, outside air would not cool off at all as it passed through it.
The only possible way an intercooler could help is if you hada liquid-to-air intercooler with either ice water or liquid nitrogen in it, but the cooling effect wouldn't last beyond one or two runs down the track.

you could do it to look cool, but im sure you never thought of actually doing it for looks, and was gonna hide it by saying it was connected.
