No such thing as a dumb question, only dumb people. BTW, nobody knows everything.

The purpose of the fuse box is to allow the placement of fuses in line for various circuits. Basically, 12 volts into the fuse and 12 volts out. There is no need for a ground for fuse protection, but the fuse panel may contain relays or other devices that require a ground connection to operate.

So I guess the answer to your question could be "yes".

The relays and such were the only reason that i would think it may need a ground but in most of teh cases i run into most of the coils inside the relays are ground side switched therefor they would get there ground down the line a little farther down. Not sure if many circuits have power side switches then go to the fuse box.

Someone had just mentioned "a ground for my fuse box" and it just made me stop and think alittle.

But i guess my real question should have been does my 2001 integra have a ground on my fusebox?

Thank you for the help

No. Everything goes to ground at the body grounds in the various circuits. The fuse box itself isn't considered a "load", so it needs no ground(or power, for that matter). Its just a centralized "storage area" for the electrical components. The electricity just goes thru the box without being used by the box. Besides, its plastic. You can't really ground plastic .

Yeah thanks. I doubted that but just wanted to make sure. I didnt think that teh actual fuse box itself needed to be grounded I was just wondering if it had a common ground for some of the circuits that go through it. Regardless of what I might have thought I have my answer now. Thanks to anyone who helped
