Forged is how you want them manufactured....however, what is stronger/ pros and cons of the I beam vs. the H beam?

I think it's too close to call. I think you'll find arguments for either.

I beam is the strongest for the weight.

Any reasoning behind your statement?

Wouldn't an I beam be ideal for N/A since you need to cut back on weight to get the same performance as a FI? Less rotating mass.

why I beam turbo and H beam N/A??? i thought you want I beam for the all motor setup so when it gets up to high RPM it'll be more freely. am i right or am i wrong?

I think the idea is that the I beam rods are stronger for compression force, and H beam are stronger on tension force (stretching). With more boost, you are putting more compression force on the rod. With a naturally aspirated, high RPM motor, you are putting lots of tension force on the rod at the end of the exhaust stroke when the piston decelerates to a stop and then accelerates back down again.

Either way, most forged pistons are stronger than we would ever need anyways... at least with the sort of power we tend to put out (sub 1000hp)
