Default I am so stupid..............

I was replacing my radiator support I took everything off that needed to be off and some other stuff:
bumper cover
bumper fenders
skirts
horn
hood latch
headlights
those black bumper support things
A/C hard line
grounding wires off support
messed with air box
brackets
etc

I can't believe this, but I have two identical 10mm screws left over and one kinda big Phillips head screw (looks like the ones that hold the wheel well cover)- I can't for the life of me figure out where they go. So if you guys can throw some suggestions my way it might hep me out - just name some stuff - I know this is stupid but its driving me crazy.

car is 99 civic si
btw runs fine no cel, the idle was kinda funny for a second but fine since (maybe because I stuck a vacumm cleaner around the intake when I was cleaning)

??? Did you take your front end apart to vaccuum it??? You're a crazy ****.

I have two things to say, they may not help except in a philisophical way

1) Leftover parts are always what was causing your problem. Hold them in your hand look at them and say "these were my problem"

2) Weight reduction ?

Try pulling a motor and putting it back in a couple of times, you'll have all sorts of goodies left over. I was able to install a complete interior on a Type R using about 20% of the fasteners that Honda put on the car to begin with, oh and everything fits perfectly and doesn't rattle. I think Honda intentionally did this to increase the complexity of the car so that only they can work on it and put everything back the way it originally was.

i said seasoned mechanic had the same problem and same box of spare bolts the solution is to.... Buy a permanent marker and tons of zip locked bags every group of bolts gets it own bag and u will never have this problem again (ie alternator bolts 1bag etc)

I didn't take the front end off to vacuum it LOL. Yeah, I was thinking to myself weight reduction

I should have listened to my brother - he had the zip lock bag idea too - but I figured I pulled the front end so many times before I would remember where they went.

I agree that a lot of the stuff on there might be overkill any way. I hate the clips, damn it. The ones that hold on the skirts frequently won't come out properly and they break. They are ~$3 a piece. Screw that. I'll ghetto rig something and keep my $3.

I was thinking, and if I remember correctly, I had this same issue with these same 2 bolts before. I will take another look at the splash guard as someone suggested, I am pretty sure they go around there somewhere. The good thing is the car runs great, no problems at all, and looks good now that the radiator support isn't bent anymore.
