Default Hyper Ground wires?

Ok I was scamming through Import Tuner today when I noticed there power pages. In it they were doing some basic bolt on mods to a WRX. On of these was some spark plug grounding wires called Hyper Ground. Of course it seems like a gimic but the things picked up 5whp in the mid range and 7lb/ft or torque. What are your guys take on this? Could the WRX ignition system just suck that bad?
