Default Hydrolocked my car???

Today i was driving home and i saw a huge puddle in front of me. so i carefully rolled through thepuddle w/o stepping on the gas. then a huge truck drives by and splashed water all over my car . a few moments later my car starts to bog and dies. i had a bad feeling about this so i just turrned off my car.
just wanted to know if i were to drain all the oil out of the crankcase, would this help avoid water damage to my engine some help please!!

BTW, water splashed on your car shouldnt do any damage, your intake has to be completely submerged in water to be hyrdrolocked

pull out your spark plugs and put a towel or something over the holes and crank it over... that is unless you've already tried cranking your car and killed the engine..

Not necessarily. If your distributor got wet it can cause your car to stall. FYI, if your filter is completely submerged it won't matter how slowly you drive. Even an idling engine can draw water all the way to the combustion chambers without much trouble.

Exactly, you want to get the water out of the combustion chamber. DO NOT try to crank it without taking out the spark plugs.

Dude, that bites. I drove through a large puddle on 15th ave and Indian School yesterday. My wife's Civic doesn't have a Cold Air just a short ram but I was sweating bullets through the intersection. Where was this small lake?

You probably bent a rod. Compression test it.
