Default hub/spindle/axle removal problem

on the spindle part, i've got the top ball joint off the upper arm but can get the lower ball joint to seperate..

the driver side axle i cant get it seperated off the hub...

i've hammered, lubed, pryed and everything i can think of but wont come off...

any suggestion greatly appreciated

Are you trying to remove the whole assembly, or just the axle? If just the axle, I think it is just the lower ball joint that needs to be removed.

You should pick up a ball joint puller from honda or a pickle fork kit from your local auto tool retailer. If you use the pickle fork, be very careful not to tear the rubber boot on the ball joint.


I have heard that hitting the control arm with a B.F. Hammer will temporarily distort the steel so that the ball joint will pop out, but I have never had much luck with this method. Maybe because I can't bring myself to nail my car with a hammer...
