Default How to use header wrap?

How do you wrap a header? Does it get sticky after the header heats it? Also, is there a specific pattern to wrapping a header? Thanks

It's not hard to put on just wrap it.

However, I'm not a believer in header wraps. If you have a stainless steel header there is no need for the wrap since stainless steel is a poor conductor of heat. Also, if you use the wrap on mild steel coated header, you are at risk for cracking. The reason is that the wrap only insulates one side of the pipes and will cause your header to become a heat sink, leading to cracks.

i think that header wrap is crap. We wrapped cyphears cast sidewinder with it this past summer. We just swapped the head last week and i toutched it. The stuff was so brittle it just fell off. like half of it.

Another vote against the wrap, for all the reasons listed above.

If you still feel inclined, to secure the ends use bailing wire or whatever you want to call thin steel wire. Just give it 4-5 turns and twist. Or don't and hope the wrap falls off and saves your header.
