I am stripping a head to get hot tanked and I can't figure out how to get the valves/valve springs out and I don't want to break anything. I am sure this is an easy one for anybody that has this expirence, PLEASE INFORM ME. I am working on an all motor B18A full rebuild from the bottom up. This will be my first attempt at doing internal work.

 

You need a valve spring compressor

 

please do yourself a favor and get a helms..
everything is explained there.

 

take 3/4 socket stick it on top of the spring and hit with a hammer and it wont tear nothing up either.

 

Do the clips at the top just come off? This motor is going to need new valves, would they come with the clips? I have a helm's manual but I hate it, I am working on finding a Honda Repair manual.

i have done this before and it worked quite weel. However I was replacing everything.

the helm manual is exactly the same as a honda repair manual, i use both of them daily.
