Default how to take off a stripped lugnut

i was on the last lugnut while switching out supsensions and the lugkey stripped the lugnut. i cant get it off. what do i do? where can i go to get it off?

well what i use at my job is a socket, that is angled inside and is used to get off lugnuts that people forget to bring the key for...i hammer it on and then take it off with the impact gun, works for stripped lugs as well...

i dont know the exact name of this type of socket though...

Vicegrips? you are talking about stripping the outside of the lug and not the threads on the stud, right? If it's the threads, you'll need to replace the stud.

no its not vicegrips... ...its a socket...and it doesnt strip anything either...

I just find a socket that is slightly too small and hammer it on.

use a smaler socket, or you can go to the local tool store and buy a socket that is used for stripped bolts etc... they'll know what your talking about when you ask them.
